LESSON DETAILS

The Franktown Meadows Riding Academy is dedicated to helping riders develop, excel, and reach their desired goals. Below is an overview of the lessons offered for riders of all levels Please note that Franktown Meadows is not a special needs or handicapped riding program.

 

EVALUATION LESSON – $100
Your first lesson at Franktown Meadows will be an Evaluation Lesson. This lesson is an opportunity to introduce you to our program and allow your instructor to assess your current skill level. Afterward, the instructor will discuss your goals in order to develop a program to best suit your needs.

 

LESSON LEVELS AND SKILLS ACQUIRED
The Franktown Meadows Riding Academy offers lessons in the following levels:

  • Tiny Tots — A private lesson required for all young riders (age 5 and under) no matter the student’s riding skills.

  • Walk-Trot — A private lesson designed for riders (age 6 and up) who are just beginning. Skills acquisition: post the trot and steer.

  • Walk, Trot, Canter — Offered as either a group and/or private lesson designed for riders (age 6 and up) who can post the trot and steer. Skills acquisition: learn to canter; steer and control one’s horse in a group setting; poles course.

  • Beginning Jump — Offered as either a group and/or private lesson designed for riders (age 6 and up) who can canter and navigate a poles course. Skills acquisition: trot and canter cross rail courses.

  • Advanced Jump — Offered as either a group and/or private lesson designed for riders (age 6 and up) who can canter and jump cross rail courses. Skills acquisition: canter courses up to 2’ with flying changes.

 

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are required for all Tiny Tot and Walk-Trot students. Private lessons are scheduled at the student’s convenience. Private lessons are 45 minutes in length.

  • Individual Private Lesson – $100 individual lesson

  • Tiny Tots – $75 individual lesson / $650 lesson package

  • Walk-Trot & Walk, Trot, Canter – $100 individual lesson / $750 lesson package

  • Beginning Jump – $100 individual lesson / $850 lesson package

  • Advanced Jump – $125 individual lesson / $1000 lesson package

 

GROUP LESSONS
Students (age of 6 and up) who have proficiency in horsemanship skills such as tacking up and untacking, as well as riding skills such steering and posting the trot are eligible to join group lessons. The FMRA will offer daily times for the different group lesson levels. Make-ups and/or schedule changes can only be made at the time that one’s specific group lesson level is offered (if there is space). Lessons are 1 hour in length.

  • Walk, Trot, Canter – $250 per month

  • Beginning Jump – $300 per month

  • Advanced Jump – $350 per month
